I Hate How My Tech Startup Looks...
Today’s video is a real and honest reflection on what it’s like to build your own product — and realizing that sometimes… it looks bad. As someone who’s been a software engineer for ~5 years, I’m confident in writing code, building features, and launching applications — but design? UI/UX? Visual flow? That’s where I’m still learning and improving.
I recently started building a startup product, and the deeper I go into the engine, logic, and feature development, the more I see how much the design isn’t keeping up. It’s cluttered, it’s inconsistent, it’s not visually human — and that’s okay. Because coding and design are two separate crafts.
The message of this video is simple:
You don’t have to be good at everything to build something great.
Keep iterating. Keep shipping. Improve a little bit each time — and growth will follow.
If you’re a maker, dev, designer, or creative — this one’s for you.
