VEGAS VLOG | celebrating my 21st birthday 🍾
It is crazy to think I am finally 21 but somehow I feel I have been for 5 years. Many of you tell me I look 25+ which is slightly worrisome, but I do feel a bit older. The past week was filled with so much time surrounded by my favorite people from all over the country. I would much rather spend time with people than receive something tangible. I am not sure what this next year holds for me, as we are never certain what is in our future. I do know that whatever happens is what is meant to. Through struggle and adversity we learn and over the past year especially that is what I have done the most of.
Learning who to trust. How to stand up when something feels wrong. How to mend my own broken heart and fall in love with myself for the first time, finding peace and solidarity in being alone. In the past I have looked for peace in those around me thinking they could somehow heal the trauma and emptiness within me. The truth is nobody can do that for you. Sure, they can be by your side while you figure it out, and that is exactly what this group embodies, but they can't do the work for you. So to all of you, look after yourselves and know that what is meant to be is what will, and do not waste a second of your time worried about things you can not control. And to my future self, keep growing, keep learning, and keep enjoying life for what it brings you, not what it doesn't.
