A Day in My Life: Building a Portfolio + Editing Shorts Like a Pro

Welcome to a behind-the-scenes look at a productive day in my life! Today, I’m diving into two of my favorite creative and technical tasks: coding my portfolio website and editing engaging shorts for my YouTube channel. If you’re curious about how I balance design, development, and content creation in a single day, this video is for you!

Morning: Planning and Portfolio Coding
The day starts with a cup of coffee and a detailed to-do list. My main focus for the morning is advancing my portfolio website. Whether you're a developer or someone who wants to showcase their work online, a well-crafted portfolio is essential.

Here’s what I’m working on:

Responsive Design: Making sure the portfolio looks stunning on both desktop and mobile.
Custom Features: Adding interactive elements, such as animations, hover effects, and a contact form.
Showcasing Projects: Highlighting my key projects with descriptions, technologies used, and live demos.
During this session, I focus on clean, functional code while ensuring the design reflects my personality and skills. If you’re into coding, I’m using [mention tools or frameworks, e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc.] for this project.

Midday: Break + Research for Shorts
After a focused morning, I take a break to refresh. Lunch is usually quick and simple, followed by some light research for my shorts content.

I spend time:

Brainstorming topics that resonate with my audience.
Reviewing trends and hashtags to ensure my shorts are discoverable.
Planning the visuals, transitions, and captions for maximum impact.
Afternoon: Editing Shorts Like a Pro
With a solid plan in place, I jump into editing. Shorts are fast-paced, visually engaging, and often require precision to get right within the 60-second limit.

My editing workflow includes:

Footage Selection: Choosing the best clips that align with the day’s theme.
Transitions & Effects: Adding smooth transitions, text overlays, and color grading to make the shorts visually appealing.
Audio Syncing: Incorporating trending sounds or background music that adds energy and enhances engagement.
Captions: Adding accurate and eye-catching captions for accessibility and better viewer retention.
The tools I use for editing include [mention tools, e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut], which allow me to work efficiently while maintaining a professional touch.

Evening: Reflecting and Sharing
As the day winds down, I take time to reflect on what I accomplished. Coding the portfolio and editing shorts may seem like two entirely different tasks, but they share a common thread: creativity and problem-solving.
